The Episcopal Denomination
The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, which started as the Church of England in the 16th century under King Henry VIII and his daughter, Queen Elizabeth I. It’s Christian practice has grown and evolved as it has spread throughout the world, but it remains rooted in the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, which structures the church services. The focus on contemplation, ritual, and practice allows for a diversity of beliefs to be brought together as we remain open to God’s revelations.
