Queer Faith Festival

Queerfaithfestival

Queer Faith Festival is a first-of-its-kind interfaith Pride celebration taking place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 1-4 p.m. (Flag Day) in Lafayette, California. Hosted at St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church, the festival is a collaborative, community-driven response to ongoing acts of hate, including repeated thefts of Pride flags at local places of worship.

Rather than react with fear, local faith communities, artists, LGBTQ+ leaders, and neighbors are coming together to build something joyful, inclusive, and resilient. The festival aims to uplift the dignity of LGBTQ+ people of faith (and those with no spiritual affiliation), foster connection across differences, and celebrate the shared values of justice, love, and compassion.

Festival activities will include:

Collaborative art projects with renowned artist/activist David Solnit

Drag Queen Story Hour for families and children.

LGBTQ+ Clergy,  Allies, & Parents panel discussions from multiple traditions

A moving Interfaith Blessing Ceremony

Live music and performances

Tabling from affirming organizations and local congregations

Food, games, and fun for all ages

Children’s activities, including crafts and a bouncy house

The event is free and open to everyone, regardless of faith tradition or spiritual background.

The Queer Faith Festival is not just a one-day celebration—it’s the beginning of an ongoing effort to build a more compassionate and connected community in the Lamorinda area and beyond. Organizers are actively seeking volunteers, partners, performers, and sponsors to grow this movement.
